Our Trip to Italy
In March, we took the most amazing trip to Northern Italy. We were very lucky to go, as an add-on to a work trip Scott was already on. The itinerary was influenced by his work, but the experiences were out of this world. Take a look at the places we visited in this quick description of each location, and as I write about each place, you’ll be able to click through for an in-depth look.
I started and ended my trip to Italy in Milan.
Milan was the airport we flew in and out of. We saw the Duomo, the Starbucks Reserve and enjoyed great food.
Desenzano del Garda
This town, in Northern Italy, is considered a resort town, but more for European travelers over the summer holidays.
This place was set next to the lake, with mountains in the distance. Perfect spot to kick back, put your feet up, and just relax.
This small stretch of land sits in the middle of Lake Garda, accessible by ferry or taxi.
I spent one afternoon strolling the streets, checking out the castle, and enjoying the food and espresso.
This small town is the setting of high end shops, a gorgeous view of the lake and amazing food.
I loved learning the history of the piazza and enjoying local fare. I was lucky enough to have my own personal tour guide that had lived there for 17 years.
There’s just nothing like it in the world. Being surrounded by the streets of water and seeing the sights is definitely something you have to experience.
Scott swears he had the best meal of his life here. And, this is also where you can see Merano glass and the glass-blowing process. This was also the location of our surprise photo shoot.
Of course, I had to go to Verona. The Casa de Giulietta is there. And, the city is filled with history and tradition.
We visited many sites, including The Arena. We drank plenty of Franciacorta bollichine, a little too much espresso and shopped to our heart’s content.
What’s Your Favorite Italian City?
Did you go somewhere amazing on a trip to Italy? I want to hear about it. We are hoping to go back sometime soon, and I need more places to visit!
