Week Two: Project Progress
Week Two of the One Room Challenge is here! All I have to share is a whole bunch of project progress…
Doors
This little corner of the house has original doors in that 90s maple orange. Because I now have a paint sprayer, I am not just painting the bedroom door and closet bi-fold doors. I am also painting the bathroom door and hallway linen closet doors. Is it any wonder that I’m not finished?
Truth be told–I started the week ready to conquer the wall feature, but at the start of the week, I woke up to sunny skies and mid-60s temps, and I couldn’t resist the option to work outside. Then, the weather turned on me, so back inside I went.
Wooden Wall Feature
I’m planning to add a fun wooden slat feature to the corner of this bedroom, opposite the feature wall. I can’t actually get started on this until I have a chance to get wood from the store. But, I drew it out.
And, why can’t I get wood from the store? Seems easy enough, doesn’t it? Long story short…Job + Children + Crappy Weather = No Project Progress
There was just no chance to get to the store to get the straightest boards I could find. (Which sounds easy, but it’s a time suck)
Ombré Wall Feature
I started this project with the idea of creating an ombré wall. I experimented with some blues…which I absolutely loved.
Then, I attempted to use paints I already had in the basement, left over from other projects, and I really fell for them! Especially because of the bedding I bought–more on that next week!
If you’ve been keeping up on Instagram, you know that the project progress of the ombré wall has not gone as planned.
It went so wrong, even the wall was crying.
And, on that note…I’m off to watch 56,000 more videos on blending paint.
