One Room Challenge: Guest Bathroom Mood Board
The spring 2025 One Room Challenge is here! For the next 8 weeks, I will be documenting the process of creating a bathroom in our basement. This space will be used daily by our children and their friends, but also guests when they come to stay. I’m crossing my fingers that everything ships in time, and that all of the other details go to plan. Let’s take a look at the guest bathroom mood board I’ve put together…
Mood Board
I’m in my green era.
I’m planning green tile in the shower, vertically placed. The sink base and linen tower are a natural oak, set on a light gray and white tile floor. The metal finishings in the space will be matte black. A large mirror will be centered over the vanity with sconces flanking each side.
The Plan
We have been slowly remodeling our basement. We removed the drop ceiling, and re-installed the can lighting. We are planning to paint the ceiling black for an industrial look, taking advantage of the height that will afford us. In a corner of the basement, there was a huge bar area that we removed recently. With that space empty, we have plans to create a full bath. The walls will go up with plumbing installed, and everything will be drywalled, painted and tiled. There are a few design questions still up in the air, but those will get answered along the way.
