The Laundry Room Mood Board

This project is off to a slooooooow start. Here we are, at Week 2 of the One Room Challenge, and I’m just getting around to sharing the laundry room mood board. I had all of these ideas about the layout, as I shared in Week One, but I needed to make my self sit down and actually come up with a design plan. I know what I like, but putting it all together takes a bit of time, especially since this room was a bit last minute.

The Laundry Room Mood Board

I’m so into green right now…dark green to be specific. Every time I see dark green cabinets, it just feels so…je ne sais quoi. Only the French could be capable of turning the phrase “I don’t know what” into a chic statement. So, I’ll go with chic…moody…posh. The cabinets will be a dark green, so I captured Benjamin Moore’s Black Forest, but I don’t know where I’ll land. I’ve been using Behr’s Conifer in other rooms, so that would be the coordinated choice, but I also want to see how other levels of green might perform in this specific space.

Natural brass finishes will pair beautifully–it’s going to be such an amazing combo. And, you *may* recognize the wallpaper. For the Spring 2023 ORC I used this SAME print in our powder room, but a different color-way. I scrolled and scrolled, thinking I might go geometric. But, when the re-marketing geniuses of Amazon served this version of my old favorite, I was convinced. I’m also bringing a new light into the space–the same light that is over our kitchen sink from the Spring 2024 ORC. It’s proven to be a beauty, and I think we will love having it in both spaces.

What’s Next?

This past weekend, hubs and I emptied out the sink cabinet and the wall cabinet. Yesterday, I removed the wall cabinet and one of the shelf racks. Then, I took down the coat racks that were placed all along the wall. I still have trim to remove. I have wall holes to patch. It’s exhausting to go through all of that, isn’t it?

I ordered some of the design elements to have on hand when we’re ready. I have to head out to get swatches for paint so I can finally choose one.
