ORC Week 7: Installing Cabinets & Pantry!

It’s been a busy week! The days are starting to run together, and I’m so thankful that this blog is reminding me we only have ONE WEEK left until the One Room Challenge reveals. Sarcasm in full effect. Let’s get to it. This week was all about the carpenters installing cabinets and my DIY of the walk-in pantry…

The Pantry

I spent a good chunk of time this week–part of Monday and too much time on Tuesday–building the walk-in pantry shelving. It’s not quite finished in terms of building elements, and definitely not the design finishings I want, but the progress is great, and I’m hoping to finish everything off this weekend and early next week. Expect to see an article devoted to this build in the coming weeks–it’s for sure going to be life-changing.

The Cabinets

Our garage is looking pretty empty, as our carpentry team was here this week, installing all 22 of our new kitchen cabinets and island. ONE day is all it took them to get everything cabinet placed. Seriously, as a DIYer, I was pretty envious of their talent. The following day, they were able to install most of the crown and furniture-end panels. There are still some details to get to–BUT, this is an exciting step. Not just because it looks amazing, but now we can get measured for countertops! Big. Huge. So so so exciting.

This update was quick and to the point, but that’s all we’ve got time for at this point, right???
