Welcome to the Spring 2023 One Room Challenge! It’s time to get excited about the designs, the plans and the inspiration of everyone who is joining this round. Which room will I be tackling?
The Powder Room
It’s been 10 years since we moved to the Chicagoland area, and the powder room was one of the first ones to get new design elements. That being said…it’s time. We’ve changed up decor a couple of times, but now it’s time for a powder room renovation!
To be honest, it’s a bit of a blank slate. I rearranged decor when decorating for Christmas, and this room didn’t *really* get put back together. Besides the tile wall that needs to come down, it should be *easy* to get going… Famous last words 🙂
It’s just…bland. It needs personality and color–a little dimension added.
I have the perfect vision that’s been swirling in my head…
I’ve been dreaming about this wallpaper, inspired by someone from an online design group that I’m part of. I fell in love immediately. I want to do a lower half wall in a blue-ish green board and batten, with the top portion covered by this gorgeous wallpaper. Gold fixtures and lighting…whether brass or champagne gold? I’m not sure yet. I’m leaning towards using a mirror with a wooden frame–to contrast the gold finish. I want layers of complex, beautiful design, all packed and fit perfectly into this one, little, tiny bathroom!
